SUMMARY:Free Fall Veggies Cooking Class-UAlberta Students
DESCRIPTION:As part of Sustainability Awareness Week 2018 the Campus Food Bank will be hosting this class. Stop by and mingle with our Converse and Cook volunteers as you learn how to make some great plant based recipes. \nGet hands-on in this cooking class focused on using fall veggies to create plant-based\, zero waste meals and snacks. Learn how to use all parts of zucchini\, pumpkins and squash to create a variety of delicious dishes. Volunteers will help you through the whole process\, including food prep\, cooking and clean-up. Afterward\, dig into a delicious meal with the rest of the group and learn about the Campus Food Bank and sustainable food systems. \nThis cooking event is part of the 11th annual Sustainability Awareness Week at the University of Alberta. Our cooking event will explore sustainable ways to prepare meals and snacks using some festive\, fall vegetables\, such as zucchinis\, pumpkins and squash. Our menu will be plant-based and zero waste. We also encourage all participants to bring their own reusable containers to take home any leftovers. Everyone will cook\, learn and eat together during this event. \nTo further community-building through this event\, we would love to open up the later part of the evening to other SAW participants to come eat with us as well.
