Food; keeping our bellies full and our lives social.

Food is more than a nutritious substance; it identifies us, and unites us.
Converse and Cook is about creating social spaces where individuals are empowered to explore their connection to food and their community by creating meals and dining together.

Here at Converse and Cook we’re building community through food. If you’re interested in our events please don’t hesitate to sign up for our newsletter. If you’re interested in collaborating send us a message through our contact form or email us at

If you’re interested in knowing what types of programming we run you can  follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @ConverseandCook where we post weekly on everything from quick and easy recipie to events that we’re running. We’ve included our instagram below so you can see what we’re currently up to 🙂

Our new cookbook Our Stories Our Food: A UofA Cookbook just launched. This book features stories and recipes from faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the University of Alberta.

If you’d like a copy you can visit the SUB UofA North Campus Bookstore starting Friday or you can email us at We’re asking for a minimum $15.00 donation.

100% of proceeds will go towards providing opportunities for UAlberta students to engage with the Edmonton community through running future cooking classes, grocery buses, and support other food literacy and community building programming both on and off campus. This includes updating and maintaining the digital version of this cookbook and creating placements for students to volunteer with various non-profits in the city to create and run food literacy and cooking education programming.
